The Festively Fly Holiday Market transformed 990 Spring Garden Street into a vibrant celebration of Black-owned businesses and community pride. Organized by Meeka Johnson, founder of All Black Everything, the event featured over 30 Black entrepreneurs showcasing unique products and services.
Attendees enjoyed a festive atmosphere filled with live music, wine tastings from Serenity Sips, and interactive activities like the Black Girl Holiday Corner, where guests customized ornaments, cups, and shirts. Photo activations and performances by local artists, including Carla Gamble, added to the excitement, creating a day filled with laughter, creativity, and community connection.
Johnson emphasized the importance of representation, sharing how the market provided a platform for businesses that reflect Black culture. “This is about more than shopping. It’s about creating spaces that celebrate us and empower our community,” she said.
Using a Black-owned ticketing agency, available through BlackSoulSummer.com, emphasizes Johnson’s organization’s commitment to Black-owned businesses.
The Festively Fly Holiday Market left a lasting impact, empowering entrepreneurs and bringing holiday cheer to Philadelphia’s Black community.
