Southwest Philadelphia Community Day

It takes a village to raise a child, but it also takes a village to build a community. State Rep. Joanna McClinton, D-Phila./Delaware, welcomed families of the 191st Legislative District to her Southwest Community Day. A place where the whole family could enjoy a day of fun, self-care, and entertainment. This fun-filled day dedicated to the community took place at McCreesh Playground June 2, 2018, from 11 AM – 3 PM.
The lot filled with 35 vendors that provided more information and resources to give out to the community. This was a completely free event with the hearts and minds of gathering people together for something positive. The Southwest Community Day included free health screenings, children activities, food, and so much more! The main stage entertainment had performances by the African Dance and Drum Ensemble, local hip-hop/R & B artists such as Seriah Nicole, Eli Capella and more.
Durning event the host of REVIVE Radio, who goes by P.O.C. had the chance to LIVE broadcast and speak with some of the attendees, sponsors, vendors, etc. Although the weather channel called for rain all day, the weather chose to hold up and bring allowed the sunshine to shine its light on such a great event!
